This matched Webb's shortest start of the year, and it's the second time in three outings he's allowed six earned runs. Over that span, he's given up 16 runs in 15.1 innings, an unusual stretch of poor performances for the ace right-hander. Webb is now at a 3.38 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 144:30 K:BB through 135.2 innings across 22 starts. He had been pitching at a career-best level through the end of June, so this could simply be a bit of regression, especially against a tough sequence of opponents (Dodgers, Blue Jays and Mets). Webb will look to right the ship in his next start, which is projected to be a favorable home matchup versus the Pirates next week.

Webb (9-7) took the loss Saturday, giving up four runs on 11 hits and a walk over six innings as the Giants were downed 6-3 by the Blue Jays. He struck out one.
The right-hander wasn't hit especially hard, but the damage added up from three doubles and eight singles. It's only Webb's second loss in nine starts since the beginning of June, a stretch in which he's delivered a 3.39 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 56:12 K:BB over 58.1 innings. He'll look for a better result in his next outing, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Mets.

For the season, the Giants' ace is at a 2.94 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 139:28 K:BB through 125.2 innings over 20 starts. He'll be at the All-Star festivities in Atlanta next week before presumably getting the ball at some point in the three-game weekend series in Toronto following the Midsummer Classic.

Webb rattled off his seventh quality start in a row, but he didn't get enough run support to avoid his first loss since May 27. The right-hander made six starts in June, covering 40.1 innings while allowing just 10 runs with a 43:7 K:BB. Overall, he's at a 2.61 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 127:24 K:BB through 113.2 innings across 18 starts this season. Webb is projected to make his next appearance on the road versus the Athletics this weekend.

That's now five quality starts in a row for Webb, who has fanned at least nine on three occasions during that stretch. The star right-hander submitted his MLB-high 12th quality start on the year, although he's perhaps even more impressively tossed at least seven innings while yielding two runs or fewer eight times among his 16 outings in 2025. Webb is also averaging 10.1 strikeouts per nine innings this year, which would be a career high if it holds up, and he'll tote a superb 2.49 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 114:20 K:BB across 101.1 frames into his next scheduled appearance versus the Marlins.
