Phillies' Aaron Nola: Gives up four runs in loss
Nola (4-10) allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four over 5.1 innings to take the loss Saturday versus the Diamondbacks.
Nola had a lead to work with after Alec Bohm put the Phillies ahead in the fourth inning, but the Diamondbacks were able to scrape together a pair of runs in the sixth. That saddled Nola with his third loss over four outings in September, and he's now allowed 16 runs over 22.1 innings this month. The veteran right-hander has a 6.46 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 88:28 K:BB through 86.1 innings across 16 starts this season. This is the first year since 2016 he's had to contend with significant injury issues, and he's been inconsistent since returning from a right ankle sprain and stress fracture in his rib in August. His last start of the regular season is projected to be at home versus the Twins, but his recent poor pitching casts doubt that he'll be a starter in the playoffs.

Phillies' Aaron Nola: Falls to Kansas City
Nola (4-9) took the loss Sunday against the Royals, allowing six runs on six hits and a walk across six innings. He struck out five.
Nola was cruising early, as he held the Royals scoreless until Jac Caglianone's two-run homer in the fifth inning. Things unraveled further in the sixth, however, when Nola gave up four runs on four straight hits, capped by a Salvador Perez three-run blast. In six starts since returning from the IL, Nola has given up six runs in three separate outings. His ERA sits at 6.44 with a 1.43 WHIP and 84:26 K:BB across 15 starts (81 innings) this season. Nola will look to get back on track his next time out, tentatively scheduled to come next week at home against the Diamondbacks.

Phillies' Aaron Nola: Dazzles in fourth win
Nola (4-8) fired six scoreless innings, conceding three hits and two walks, to pick up the win Monday against the Mets. He struck out seven.
The veteran right-hander turned in a vintage performance with this 94-pitch outing. Prior to Monday, Nola had been struggling since returning from the injured list Aug. 17, producing an ugly 8.38 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 19.1 frames over four starts. Nola stymied a hot New York lineup that had plated the third most runs in the second half entering Monday, as the 32-year-old tallied a season-best seven Ks. He will carry a 6.24 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 79:25 K:BB across 75 total innings into his next appearance, which currently lines up to come at home against Kansas City this weekend.

Phillies' Aaron Nola: Hit hard in eighth loss
Nola (3-8) took the loss Wednesday against Milwaukee, allowing six runs on five hits and two walks in five innings. He struck out six.
Nola struggled mightily this year before going on the injured list with rib and ankle injuries in mid-May, turning in a 6.16 ERA through nine starts, and he's fared worse since returning from the three-month absence. The veteran right-hander has yielded at least four runs in three of his last four starts, and he's served up four home runs over that span. Nola's 6.78 ERA and 1.51 WHIP for the season would both easily be career worsts if they stand, and things won't figure to get much easier in his next scheduled outing against a Mets team with an .870 OPS since the beginning of August.

Phillies' Aaron Nola: Earns win in blowout
Nola (3-7) allowed four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four over six innings to earn the win over Atlanta on Thursday.
Nola wasn't at his best Thursday, but Philadelphia's seven-homer barrage gave him plenty of runway to work with. He's still shaking off the rust after a three-month absence -- he's allowed 13 runs (12 earned) across 14.1 innings since returning from an ankle sprain and a stress fracture in his rib. Between injuries and lackluster performance, highlighted by a 6.47 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 66:21 K:BB through 64 innings across 12 starts, it's been a season to forget for the 32-year-old right-hander. Nola is projected to make his next start at Milwaukee in a challenging matchup.

Phillies' Aaron Nola: Back in win column
Nola (2-7) picked up the win in Saturday's 6-4 victory over the Nationals, giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six.
The veteran right-hander shut down the Washington offense for four frames before beginning to fade, and he served up solo shots to CJ Abrams and Luis Garcia in the sixth inning. Nola left the mound after 97 pitches (64 strikes) and ended with his first win, and first quality start, since May 3, having missed three months over the summer with ankle and rib injuries. He'll look to build on this performance in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next week against Atlanta.
