    Carter was waived by the Cardinals on Monday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.

    Carter was claimed off waivers from the Texans in April. The former James Madison product has appeared in four games over the last two seasons with Dallas and Houston.

    Carter was claimed off waivers by Arizona on Tuesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.

    Carter will return to Arizona after spending much of the 2021 season on the practice squad. The third-year defensive end joined Houston's active roster in late December of last season, but played 15 defensive snaps in just one game with the team. Carter was waived by Houston this past Monday.

    Carter appeared in one game for the Texans in 2021, registering zero counting stats across 18 total snaps (15 defensive). The undrafted defensive end out of James Madison spent the 2020 campaign with the Cowboys and played mostly on special teams.

    Carter and defensive tackle Xavier Williams were signed to the roster as Houston deals with a slew of defensive linemen currently on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Carter played three games for the Cowboys in 2020 and was the career sacks leader with 23 for James Madison University.
