Rockets' Ricky Council: Signs pact with Houston
Council agreed to a contract with the Rockets on Friday, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports.
While specifics of the deal are unknown, Council likely signed a non-guaranteed pact. If he's waived, the Arkansas product is expected to join Houston's G League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, to begin the 2025-26 season. Over 73 regular-season appearances with Philadelphia in 2024-25, Council averaged 7.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 17.1 minutes per contest.

Council won't sign with the Nets after previously agreeing to a one-year deal with the team Aug. 1, NetsDaily.com reports.
Shams Charania of ESPN had reported that Council was set to join Brooklyn, but the third-year wing will ultimately look for opportunities elsewhere in advance of training camp. Council appeared in a team-high 73 games for the 76ers in 2024-25, averaging 7.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 17.1 minutes per contest.

Nets' Ricky Council: To join Brooklyn
Council and the Nets agreed to a one-year contract on Friday, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.
Council, who was recently let go by the 76ers, enters into a pretty good situation for his development with the Nets in the early stages of a rebuild. Council amassed 105 career regular-season appearances with the 76ers over the past two seasons with averages of 6.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.8 three-pointers on 40.2 percent shooting from the field.

Ricky Council: Let go by Philadelphia
The 76ers waived Council on Friday.
Council saw his playing time increase over the course of the 2024-25 regular season due to multiple injuries with the team. After the All-Star break, he averaged 9.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists over 22.3 minutes per game, while starting in eight of those second-half contests. Council will turn 24 in August, and his youth and upside should garner plenty of interest from teams on waivers or on the open market if he clears waivers.

76ers' Ricky Council: Struggles in regular-season finale
Council closed Sunday's 122-102 loss to the Bulls with five points (1-6 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and one block over 22 minutes.
Council struggled after moving to the second unit for the Sixers' regular-season finale, and he shot just 25.8 percent from the field during his final five appearances of the 2024-25 campaign. The second-year forward received an uptick in playing time due to a litany of injuries this season, finishing with averages of 7.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.8 three-pointers, 0.4 steals and 0.2 blocks across 17.1 minutes per contest in 73 regular-season games.

76ers' Ricky Council: Double-doubles in loss
Council notched 17 points (6-15 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 11 rebounds and three assists over 36 minutes during Sunday's 127-109 loss to the Raptors.
The 76ers were missing a total of 10 players Sunday, allowing Council to step into a featured role. His overall production has left a lot to be desired, however, as he's averaging 12.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 0.8 three-pointers on 32.7 percent shooting over his last four games with a total of zero steals and one block in that span.

Council will start in Sunday's game against Toronto, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
The 23-year-old forward will rejoin the starting five due to Guerschon Yabusele (knee) being sidelined. Council has started in five games this month, averaging 11.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.6 three-pointers across 31.2 minutes per contest.

Council has started in the 76ers' last two games, but he'll cede his spot in the starting five to Quentin Grimes. Council has averaged 12.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists over 28.5 minutes per game across his last 10 outings, though he's shot just 36.0 percent from the field and 22.8 percent from three over that span.

76ers' Ricky Council: Scores 14 points off bench
Council amassed 14 points (5-11 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 4-5 FT), three rebounds, one assist and one steal in 19 minutes before fouling out of Sunday's 132-119 loss to the Hawks.
Council recorded his eighth game of the campaign with at least 14 points. The 76ers aren't playing for much these days and are in player-evaluation mode, meaning Council is likely to stay relevant the rest of the way. Over his last eight games, Council has averaged 13.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.4 three-pointers in 27.3 minutes.

76ers' Ricky Council: Double-doubles as starter
Council racked up 13 points (4-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 10 rebounds, one block and one steal in 28 minutes during Sunday's 130-125 win over the Mavericks.
The 76ers are decimated by injuries, which has allowed Council to play at least 28 minutes in four straight games. During that stretch, he's averaged 14.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.0 blocks and 0.8 steals in 31.8 minutes per game. Council's role would decrease dramatically if Paul George (groin), Kelly Oubre (knee), Tyrese Maxey (back) and/or Lonnie Walker (concussion) return to action soon.

76ers' Ricky Council: Part of first unit Friday
Council is part of the starting lineup for Friday's game against Indiana.
With the depleted 76ers down to just eight available players Friday, Council will move into the starting lineup. The swingman has averaged 13.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.8 steals and 2.0 threes in 33.8 minutes across four games as a starter this year.

76ers' Ricky Council: Scores season-high 19 points
Council ended with 19 points (7-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one steal over 29 minutes during Monday's 132-123 loss to Atlanta.
Council has found a way to produce solid numbers despite being primarily rooted in a bench role. However, he's not a consistent performer, and his fantasy upside isn't very high because of that same lack of consistency on a game-to-game basis. That said, this was the 17th time that Council has scored in double digits this season, and 13 of those contests, including this season-high scoring output, came off the bench. Council is averaging 7.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in five March outings this season.
