The second round of the 2025 NBA playoffs continues Wednesday with a pair of Game 5s. And we could see two more teams go home. The Indiana Pacers clinched a spot in the Eastern Conference finals on Tuesday, knocking out the top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers in five games. The New York Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves could join the Pacers in the next round with one more win.
The Knicks are up 3-1 over the reigning champion Celtics. Boston is not only on the brink of elimination in Game 5, but the Celtics learned Tuesday that star forward Jayson Tatum has a torn Achilles. He underwent surgery and might not return until the 2026-27 season.
The Wolves, like the Pacers, are trying to reach the conference finals for the second year in a row. They've won three straight games against the Warriors, who lost Stephen Curry to a hamstring strain in Game 1. Curry is out again Wednesday, but could potentially return on Sunday if the Dubs can force a Game 6.
