  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Goes deep again

Crawford went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run during Sunday's 5-4 win over the Rangers. Crawford took Jacob deGrom yard in the fourth inning, marking the shortstop's ninth homer of the campaign. He's swatted a long ball in two of his last three games, and Crawford has now scored a run in four consecutive contests. However, he hasn't had a multi-hit game since July 20. Since then, he's gone 6-for-33 (.182) at the dish.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Comes up clutch Friday

Crawford went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 4-3 win over the Rangers. Crawford has been in a significant slump since the All-Star break, going just 7-for-59 (.119) over his last 14 games. That didn't seem to weigh him down when he delivered a walk-off homer in the ninth inning for his first long ball since July 9 versus the Yankees. The rut has cost Crawford the leadoff spot versus right-handed pitchers -- Randy Arozarena has been atop the order for the Mariners in the last two games. Crawford still has a .265/.359/.364 slash line with eight homers, 42 RBI, 47 runs scored and five stolen bases over 107 games, but he doesn't often provide enough category coverage, which makes it tough to trust him in fantasy while he's hitting near the bottom of the lineup.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Sitting Monday

Crawford is not in the Mariners' starting lineup against the Athletics on Monday. Crawford will get a rest day while Dylan Moore starts at shortstop and bats eighth. Crawford has been cold at the plate since the All-Star break, going 4-for-43 (.093) with two doubles, one RBI and a 25.0 percent strikeout rate.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Knocks in four runs

Crawford went 2-for-6 with a double and four RBI during Saturday's 15-7 win over the Tigers. Crawford has been red-hot at the plate as the first half comes to a close, knocking in four runs in a game for the third time this season. He is also the owner of a 13-game hit streak, which he extended Saturday with a third-inning single and followed up with a bases-clearing double in the ninth. The 30-year-old's hot streak has contributed to a quality slash line of .287/.388/.387 with one game to go before the All-Star break.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Pushes hit streak to seven games

Crawford went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk in Saturday's 1-0 win over the Pirates. The 30-year-old shortstop continues to offer the Mariners some stability at the leadoff spot while Victor Robles (shoulder) sits on the injured list. Crawford hasn't supplied much in the way of power -- he's slugging just .383 over his last 58 outings -- but he's batting .287 with 19 RBI, 23 runs scored, 32 walks and four stolen bases across his last 267 plate appearances.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Idle against lefty

Crawford is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox. The left-handed-hitting Crawford typically starts against opposing southpaws, but he'll take a seat for the day game after a night game while the Red Sox send ace lefty Garrett Crochet to the bump. Dylan Moore will fill in for Crawford at shortstop and bat leadoff.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Lifts grand slam Sunday

Crawford went 1-for-3 with a grand slam and a walk in Sunday's 6-0 win over the Guardians. Crawford dominated this three-game set versus Cleveland, going 7-for-11 with two extra-base hits and three walks. The shortstop had the biggest hit of Sunday's contest when he went deep for a second-inning grand slam that gave the Mariners a 5-0 lead at the time. Crawford is now batting .296 with an .824 OPS, six homers, 29 RBI, 30 runs scored, 10 doubles and four stolen bases over 68 games. He's hit well since late May, so he's in little danger of losing the leadoff spot any time soon.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Managing shoulder tightness

Crawford was scratched from the lineup before Wednesday's game against the Yankees due to shoulder tightness, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports. The severity of Crawford's injury remains unknown, but he can be considered day-to-day until the team provides reason to believe otherwise. Leo Rivas and Miles Mastrobuoni are the leading candidates to pick up playing time at shortstop if Crawford has to miss any additional time.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Gets aboard four times Monday

Crawford went 2-for-4 with two walks, one stolen base and one run scored in Monday's 7-6 extra-innings loss to the Athletics. The shortstop is up to a .294 batting average with an .820 OPS, three home runs, 17 RBI, 18 runs scored, one stolen base and three doubles over 33 contests. His .417 on-base percentage ranks fourth among qualified hitters in the majors through Monday's games. While he doesn't have the speed of a typical leadoff hitter, he's taken over the role amid his recent surge after often hitting ninth to begin 2025.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Remains hot Saturday

Crawford went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in a loss to the Rangers on Saturday. Crawford swatted the first pitch of the game -- an 88-mph sinker from Patrick Corbin -- over the right-field fence, but that proved to be the only run the Mariners managed to score in the contest. The long ball extended Crawford's hitting streak to 11 games, a span during which he's batting .386 (17-for-44) with three homers and 13 RBI. Prior to the red-hot stretch, the veteran shortstop had knocked in just four runs over his first 20 games of 2025.

Crawford went 1-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored in Saturday's extra-inning win over Toronto. Crawford has started each of Seattle's first 21 games of the season, and his offensive production has picked up recently. The veteran shortstop is hitting .310 (9-for-29) with two doubles, four RBI and six runs scored over his last nine outings, and he ranks among MLB's leaders in walks (15) on the campaign. The Mariners have a void at the top of their lineup while Victor Robles (shoulder) is sidelined, and Crawford's on-base skills could allow him to see some at-bats in the leadoff spot at some point this year.

  • Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Feeling healthy entering new season

Crawford is batting just .214 with one home run and two RBI over 28 at-bats in the Cactus League, but he enters the 2025 season with a clean bill of health, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports. Following an injury-plagued season that saw him deal with an oblique strain and a fractured hand, Crawford is looking to put his tough 2024 campaign behind him. "I couldn't get in a rhythm and every time I started to hit good, those injuries popped up," Crawford said this past Monday. "It pretty much hurt every time I swung the bat." However, the 30-year-old infielder believes he's "in a great spot" health-wise this spring, and he's set to reprise his role as Seattle's everyday shortstop after hitting a career-low .202 across just 105 games last season.
