  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Quick hook vs. Yankees

Corbin took a no-decision Monday against the Yankees, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks in three innings. He struck out three. Corbin's streak of starts with at least five innings was finally halted at 16, and it was his second straight outing with three walks allowed. The veteran southpaw threw his second-fewest pitches (72) of the year, and the three strikeouts were his fewest since his June 6 appearance in Washington. Corbin will bring a serviceable 3.91 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 96:35 K:BB across 112.2 frames into his next start, which is set to come at home versus a formidable Phillies lineup this weekend.

  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Continues to provide length

Corbin didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Angels, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks in five innings. He struck out six. Corbin has really settled into Texas' rotation this season, having now pitched at least five innings in 16 straight starts. Additionally, the veteran southpaw has given up two runs or fewer in five consecutive outings, and he matched a season low in hits allowed Tuesday. Corbin will take a 3.78 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 93:32 K:BB across 109.2 innings into this weekend's scheduled appearance in Seattle against the Mariners, who have a poor .660 OPS versus left-handed pitching at home since the beginning of June.

  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Excellent again Wednesday

Corbin allowed one run on five hits and no walks while striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings in a no-decision against the Athletics on Wednesday. Corbin was pulled having thrown just 69 pitches, exiting with two outs in the sixth frame after having giving up his lone run in that inning. He may have been running out of steam -- the A's strung together three straight two-out knocks after having recorded just two hits across the first five frames -- but it was nonetheless another strong outing by the veteran southpaw, who has allowed three or fewer runs in each of his past five starts. Corbin has a strong 2.54 ERA and 28:6 K:BB over 28.1 innings during that stretch, suggesting that his improbable bounce-back campaign at the age of 36 may be sustainable. He's at a 3.78 ERA and 1.27 WHIP through 19 starts on the season after finishing with an ERA of no better than 5.20 in each of his previous four campaigns.

  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Silences Tigers over 5.2 frames

Corbin took a no-decision Friday against the Tigers, giving up three hits and two walks in 5.2 scoreless innings. He struck out six. Corbin remains a stable source of length for the Rangers, having now tossed at least five innings in 14 consecutive starts and 16 of his 18 outings this year. Additionally, the veteran left-hander has fanned at least six in five of his last seven appearances. Corbin will bring a quality 3.91 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 80:29 K:BB over 99 frames into his next scheduled start at home versus the division-rival Athletics, who have a weak .625 OPS versus left-handed pitching since the start of June.

  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Gets plenty of support in win

Corbin (6-7) allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out six over five innings to earn the win over the Angels on Thursday. The Rangers led 9-0 after three innings, though Corbin gave some of the lead back when he allowed a two-run home run to Taylor Ward in the fifth. This was Corbin's second straight win, and he's allowed a modest seven runs over his last 17 innings while posting a 15:4 K:BB in that span. For the season, the southpaw has a 4.15 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 74:27 K:BB across 93.1 innings over 17 starts. He's allowed three runs or fewer in 15 of his outings, and this has been the steadiest he's looked since 2019.

  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Gets quality start Monday

Corbin allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out six over six innings in a no-decision versus the Orioles on Monday. Corbin picked up his second quality start of June and his fourth such outing all season. The southpaw gave up all three runs on a double by Gary Sanchez in the third inning. Corbin surrendered 17 runs over 29 innings in June, losing three of his five starts in the process, so it's been a tough go of things for him lately. Overall, he's at a 4.26 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 65:24 K:BB through 82.1 innings across 15 starts. He's projected for a road start in San Diego this weekend.

  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Coughs up five runs

Corbin (4-7) allowed five runs on nine hits over five-plus innings Monday, striking out six and taking a loss against Baltimore. Corbin gave up one run through four innings before Jackson Holliday ripped a three-run shot in the fifth. Corbin then loaded the bases without recording an out in the sixth inning but Baltimore only scratched across one run after he was removed. He produced a surprising 3.13 ERA through his first six starts this year but has since registered a 5.04 ERA over his last 44.2 frames (eight appearances). Corbin now owns a 4.24 ERA and a 59:23 K:BB for the season. It's unclear when his next start will be, as Jacob Latz will make a spot-start Tuesday and Nathan Eovaldi (triceps) is expected to return from the injured list later this week.

  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Allows four runs in loss

Corbin (4-6) took the loss against the Royals on Wednesday, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts over five innings. Corbin allowed all four runs in the third inning, highlighted by a three-run homer from Maikel Garcia. While the veteran southpaw has just three quality starts this season, Wednesday marked the first time in 13 outings that he surrendered more than three earned runs. He'll carry a 3.91 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 53:23 K:BB across 71.1 innings into a road matchup with the Orioles next week.

  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Goes distance against former club

Corbin (3-5) took the loss Friday, giving up two runs on five hits over eight innings as the Rangers fell 2-0 to the Nationals. He struck out two without walking a batter. The veteran lefty was locked in against the team with which he won a World Series ring back in 2019, but Corbin got no run support. He tossed a complete game on 89 pitches (60 strikes). After posting an ERA north of 5.00 in four straight campaigns before leaving Washington, Corbin's having an impressive comeback in Texas, delivering a 3.52 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 43:18 K:BB over 61.1 innings. He'll look for his first win since May 14 in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Minnesota.

  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Suffers fourth loss

Corbin (3-4) took the loss Saturday, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks over 5.1 innings against the Cardinals. He struck out three. Corbin delivered a quality outing Saturday, but a lack of run support resulted in his fourth loss of the season. Despite the defeat, the left-hander is having a nice bounce-back campaign after posting a 5.62 ERA and 1.50 WHIP across 174.2 regular-season innings with the Nationals in 2024. The 35-year-old owns a 3.71 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in 53.1 innings, and he hasn't given up more than three earned runs in any of his 10 starts this year.

  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Yields three runs in loss

Corbin (3-3) took the loss against the Yankees on Tuesday, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three across five innings. Despite limiting the Yankees to three runs Tuesday, Corbin still came away with the loss as the Rangers were kept off the board until the ninth. Corbin hasn't yielded more than three earned runs in any of his eight starts this season and has a 3.59 ERA over 42.2 innings, which is in stark contrast to the 5.71 ERA he posted across the four prior years. He's in line to face the White Sox on the road this weekend.

  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Season-high nine Ks in third win

Corbin (3-2) earned the win Wednesday against the Rockies after allowing three runs on four hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out nine. Corbin established a season high with nine punchouts, which also represented his most Ks in a start since 2023. Wednesday marked his second straight quality start, and the veteran left-hander also produced a strong 15 swinging strikes, notably fanning six in a row at one point. Corbin will take a quality 3.35 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 29:13 K:BB over 37.2 frames into a tough matchup on the road against the Yankees, who boast an .878 OPS versus left-handed pitching through their first 42 games.

  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Takes loss despite quality start

Corbin (2-2) was tagged with the loss against the Tigers on Friday, allowing two runs on three hits and four walks while striking out three across seven innings. It was another strong outing for the veteran southpaw, though he took the loss for the second time in his last three starts after being outdueled by Detroit ace Tarik Skubal. Although he generated only four whiffs and issued four walks, Corbin was able to complete seven innings for the first time in 2025 while tossing 93 pitches (50 strikes) and inducing 12 flyballs. This was his first quality start of the season, and the 35-year-old has a 3.13 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 20:12 K:BB across 31.2 innings. Corbin is lined up to face the Rockies at home next week.

  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Pitches well again Saturday

Corbin allowed one run on five hits and two walks while striking out two batters over 5.2 innings in a no-decision against Seattle on Saturday. Corbin served up a leadoff homer to J.P. Crawford in the first inning, but the Mariners were unable to score on him after that. The veteran lefty fell one out shy of his first quality start of the season, though he did extend his streak of giving up two or fewer runs to four outings. Corbin hasn't completed six frames in a start yet, but he's enjoying a bit of a career revival in Texas so far, posting a 3.28 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 17:8 K:BB over 24.2 innings spanning five starts.

  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Handed first loss

Corbin (2-1) yielded two runs on seven hits and a walk over 4.2 innings Monday, striking out five and taking a loss against the Athletics. Corbin worked through four scoreless frames before running into trouble in the fifth inning. He gave up two extra-base hits in the inning and was removed from the game after Tyler Soderstrom's two-run double. Corbin generated a season-high 12 whiffs, including six with his slider. He has not given up more than three runs in any start this season but has not completed six innings in any of those outings. Corbin will carry a 3.79 ERA into his next start, which is expected to be at home this weekend against the Mariners.

  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Nabs second win

Corbin (2-0) picked up the win in Tuesday's 8-5 victory over the A's, giving up two runs on seven hits and two walks over five-plus innings. He struck out four. The 35-year-old lefty tossed 85 pitches (57 strikes) as he continues to give an injury-thinned Texas rotation surprisingly solid innings. Through three starts, Corbin has a 3.77 ERA, but his 1.53 WHIP and 10:5 K:BB are bright red flags that he's still the same pitcher that was saddled with a 5.71 ERA over the prior four seasons with the Nationals. With Kumar Rocker beginning to come around, the Rangers could have a tough choice to make once Jack Leiter (finger) is ready to return from the IL.

  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Turns back clock in first win

Corbin (1-0) earned the victory against the Angels on Wednesday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out six batters over 5.1 innings. Corbin held the Angels scoreless until the sixth frame, when Los Angeles managed to push across one run on three hits against him. The lefty was lifted with the tying runs on base, but Texas' bullpen came to the rescue and didn't allow any more Angels to score for the remainder of the game. Fantasy managers who have avoided Corbin in recent seasons may have trouble remembering that he made two All-Star teams and finished fifth in NL Cy Young voting earlier in his career. At 35 years of age, Corbin likely isn't primed for a late-career rejuvenation, so there's probably no need to rush to the waiver wire unless the veteran hurler puts together a string of similarly effective starts.

  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Struggles in second inning Tuesday

Corbin didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Cubs, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks with no strikeouts in four innings. Corbin had a rough second inning in his Rangers debut, giving up a leadoff homer to Dansby Swanson and a two-run single to Seiya Suzuki. The veteran left-hander tossed three scoreless innings otherwise, and he was able to throw 74 pitches before his night came to an end. Corbin could have some deep-league streaming appeal at home against the Angels in his next scheduled start, which lines up for early next week.

  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Recalled from Triple-A

The Rangers recalled Corbin from Triple-A Round Rock on Friday. The original plan was for Corbin to join the Rangers around April 11, but Jack Leiter's move to the injured list Friday with a blister issue has forced the team to work a bit ahead of schedule. Assuming he slides right into Leiter's place in the rotation, Corbin will make his season debut Tuesday against the Cubs.

  • Rangers' Patrick Corbin: Heads to minors

The Rangers optioned Corbin to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday. Corbin signed a one-year deal with Texas on March 18, so rather than having him rush through his throwing progression, he will begin the year in the minors to continue building up at a more comfortable pace. He's expected to make two starts at Round Rock before potentially slotting into the Texas rotation for the team's series in Seattle that runs from April 11 through 13. Corbin is coming off a 2024 season with the Nationals in which he submitted a 5.62 ERA and 1.50 WHIP across 174.2 innings.
