Draft Scouting Report
JJ Pegues is a versatile and disruptive athlete who can wreak havoc as an interior presence but is also a former tight end and fullback who can pull double duty if needed. He’s a high-effort player who excels in pass-rushing games and is a leader on and off the field.
- 2024: Third-team All-SEC
- 2024: Played offense as a part of Ole Miss' jumbo package and finished second on the team with seven rushing touchdowns
- Elite athletes with twitch like this don’t grow on trees. His testing will separate him among his peers.
- Plays with excellent leverage at the point and mobile and athletic enough to recover if reached
- Team leader and high-character player who is someone you want on your team
- Shorter arms will be a cause for concern and hinder his ability to be consistent on early down-and-distance plays
- Power rush and long arm need improvement to crush the pocket
- Hand placement and ability to anchor vs. gap schemes in running the game are lacking at times.
- 40-yard dash: 5.15 seconds
- Vertical jump: 27.5 inches

Raiders' JJ Pegues: Lands with Raiders
The Raiders selected Pegues in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 180th overall.
Pegues spent all five of his collegiate seasons in the SEC, with his last two years coming at Ole Miss. He was able to consistently get into the backfield, combining for 7.0 sacks and 21.5 tackles for loss in his final two campaigns. He'll now look to provide depth for a loaded Las Vegas defensive line, and he could also contribute as a short-yardage rusher, as he found the end zone seven times for the Rebels in 2024.
