Charles (knee) will not return to Saturday's preseason game against the Rams, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

Commanders' Saahdiq Charles: Could return soon
Charles (calf) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Charles has been sidelined since suffering the injury in Week 7. He'll now have a 21-day window to practice with the team before being added to the active roster. The LSU product was the team's starter at left guard before the injury, so his potential return as soon as Week 15 against the Rams should be a boost to the Commanders' offensive line.

Charles (calf) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Eagles, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.
Washington's starting left guard will miss his first game of the season this Sunday, as he continues to nurse the calf strain that he suffered during the Commanders' Week 7 loss to the Giants. 2023 third-round pick Ricky Stromberg is expected to make his first career start in Charles' stead.
